Old Bag of Nails Pub in Columbus

I'd give it 5 stars if they allowed dogs. There's a massive patio and it's next to a park, so not sure why they can't let our four-legged friends join us but I'd spend way more money if they did! Rant aside, great food at decent prices so I'll go again, just not regularly since they can't seem to understand canines are like toddlers.

Best fish and chips ever! The mussels and shrimp were also a delicious dish..Atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was fast and friendly. Clientele was diverse and fun. Parking was a little tight on site. They have a daily all you eat fish and chips platter.

We love sitting in the patio area when the weather is nice. Sipping BaHaMa MaMa’s, munching on fried pickles and garlic parm wings.

Really great staff. Meet very interesting ppl there. Bartenders are knowledgeable and generous.

We ate there today just for the fish! So very good! I've moved to Lancaster and cannot find a place to get delicious fish. While in Columbus we couldn't wait to have the fish at Old Bag of Nails in Bexley like we used to. Always excellent. And we had an excellent server.

We waited forever for service and the restaurant wasn't busy. When our waitress came over and took our order she went off and talked with what seemed like her friends. We waited and waited, our order was made up of appetizers, nothing that should take too long to put together. The place was kind of disheveled and dirty. We won't return.

It was delicious piping hot and waiters were great nice atmosphere great music

I always have the Nachos here. Very friendly and great drinks too.

Haven't been to the Nelson Rd. location in years but we were in the area and decided to stop in on a Friday night. We were seated immediately (which was great) and the waitress took our drink orders promptly. While waiting for our drinks we noticed the place looked like it could use a good cleaning. Loads of dust covered the memorabilia and the floor was sticky. "Oh well" I thought but when my wife got her tea she commented, "it was sweeter than it should be," even though she haven't sweetened it yet. Turns out it tasted sweet because the cup had a sticky substance around the rim. I pray it was sugar but who knows. It was apparent the cup wasn't clean. My wife was immediately nauseated and we left.

Sometimes the wait staff is slow. Sometimes there may be an error with the food. Most times I'm satisfied though so 3/5

Food was delicious and the service excellent, especially the lady behind the bar - she made me the best drink ever being that I'm not much of a drinker and didn't know what to order so I could have a Birthday drink with my husband to celebrate him. I believe the name of the drink was South Beach.Will be back for another!

Good food and good service. I am allergic to fish, but I am told their fish and chips is awesome...the chips are steak fries, which removes a star for me.Good beer selection, and if you sit outside, you can sit next to an urban waterfall. My mother-in-law loves fish and chips, so we take her there when she visits. The delicious fish and chips are not enough to prevent her from complaining to the waiter about her wine being too warm. She does this at every restaurant, so it should not be a reflection on the wait staff. Rather, I think she is looking for a reason to tip 2%.

Delicious place to go after the botanical gardens! Fast service, decent prices.

The food was outstanding. But it pales to the crazy good service we were given. Absolutely wonderful place! Emmanuel was our server, but we weren't a "job to him. He cared for us as if we were his family. Thank you Emmanuel!!

Very delicious food! Fast and friendly wait staff. I had a drink in my hand within a minute of sitting down my food within 10! Not to mention the gorgeous views that overlook the creek.

Exceptionally friendly staff and quality food. Super great credit to their staff as well. I left my credit card here and the manager not only asked for my name but also the credit card company, and I was super relieved to see the precautions they take for their customers!

Great food, and simple atmosphere. My daughters and I had a blast! The servers were nice and kept the soda flowing. Lol, although the wait for our meals was a little extensive, it was well worth it.

As usual, food is very good. Sitting on patio is fantastic. Began raining but since we were under umbrellas on the patio, didn't get wet.

Food was okay the wings were good as well service was but my husband chicken nacho was dry and I had the Atlantic salmon with steamed broccoli 🥦 and I kid you not I ate majority of my food until I found two short black hairs under my salmon. They took off $7.71 just for that and said there is all Mexican in the kitchen so who hair could it be.....😳 other then that not sure if we will come back.

Cant go wrong with there Fish and Chips..Going back really hungry for there all you can eat next

Ive been here twice. First time I got the rustic burger, it was amazing. I got it during covid-19 and the blue cheese crumbles tasted as if they were molded. I could never go here again!

Very busy at Happy Hour, but great staff and had a brilliant Guinness with the Mussels and Shrimp appetizer... It was amazing. Thought I was in Ireland for a second!

Fun environment on the porch. Had the fish and chips. They were fine but not amazing.

Awful ! Service was slow , food average . Drink was made incorrectly , when the server was addressed she said it " looked fine". This location used to be a nice place but the standards have clearly lowered. Asked to speak with a manager...no.

Visiting from Indiana to have dinner with my sisters.The hospitality was great. A kind and pleasant waitress. An inviting atmosphere. The fish was awesome! The mussels was scrumptious! We had a good time and I definitely will visit again.

The food was really good! I had a blackened tuna sandwich, which I would highly recommend. Other people I was with got the fisherman's platter, which had various fried seafood (scallops, shrimp, fish). They both liked it and said the tartar sauce was very good with it. The only issue was that the food seemed to come out very slowly, despite the restaurant not being very full.

I just went to pick up my food two Cobb salads and three fish and chips. First I had to ask for my salad dressing and when I did they gave me two small french dressing. I asked for more and I guess they was out so no more dressing for my salad. Get home to wet soggy greasy fish and fries. I tried to eat it because it's mother's day and I wasn't going back but it's nasty. I usually love this place but they definitely dropped the ball on a simple meal

Service is always great. Food tastes wonderful. This location tends to be very crowded....you must attend at the right time to park comfortably. They now offer parking across the street near St.Charles athletic building. Im glad they made this location bigger. I enjoy sitting outside in the patio area.

Excellent bar/pub type food served in an excellent atmosphere tucked right along the water off Broad Street! The menu has everything you would expect and more at reasonable prices and you can choose to sit inside, at the bar or outside on the patio to hear the running water. They have happy hour specials and really great appetizers. I would go back in a heart beat.

Waited 15 minutes at bar the bartender looked at me like I don't serve people of African descent!

I had great service with a friendly server her name was Shauna she was very informative with a great personality and highly helpful for me to decide on what to get. I highly recommend anyone to visit this restaurant it had reasonable pricing and great service.....

Went here for lunch today. Ordered the French dip and it was okay, kinda had no flavor. I noticed the fried pickles and thats my weakness. I didn’t order them at the restaurant but decided later to door dash them. Anyways at the restaurant, the fries were cold. I asked for a side of ranch and didn’t receive it. I had multiple waiters come to the table and ask my order. They are completely unorganized. Back to the pickles. They sent mushrooms because they were out of pickles. Still had to drive there and was told they were out of pickles but didn’t call and decided to send mushrooms. They couldn’t refund the money because door dash had it. The manager was completely incompetent. That’ll be my last time going or ordering from there. Not to mention the staff look trashy

Veggi options. Beautiful view on the back patio. Close to trails for walking.

They have raised the price of the fish and chips and lowered the quality

Food was horrible and customer service was terrible as well. Please don’t waste your money.

Carrot cake was AMAZING! The blackened chicken sandwich was pretty good as well.

Such a fun place. The staff are happy and service was wonderful. Great atmosphere. Would like to return when able to sit on the outside patio.
